Emmitsburg, Md. (November 20, 2022) - Mount St. Mary's swim teams placed well in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational as the women's team finished fifth, while the men's team finished in third.
The men's swimming and diving team placed third notching 1,223.50 points. Junior
Nicholas Santorelli placed first in the 200 yard free (1:39.22), while Junior
Jacob Wallace took an individual win in the the 100-yard breastroke tallying a time of 54.64 seconds. Junior
Jason Fitch placed first in the 100-yard backstroke tallying a time of 49.67 seconds, while sophomore
Aidan Grady finished in first in the 200-yard breaststroke as he tallied a time of 2:02.96.Â
Per team performances;
Aidan Grady,
Jason Fitch,
Jacob Wallace, and
Peter Jones placed first in the 400-yard medley with a final time of 3:23.26, also placing first in the 200 medley as they tallied a time of 1:31.31. Junior
Nicholas Santorelli,
Griffin Distler,
Austin Toland, and
Peter Jones tallied a second place title in the 200-yard free with a final time of 1:24.37.Â
The women's swimming and diving team placed 5th notching 823.50 points. Junior
Dahna Yoon finished first in the 200 butterfly marking a time 2:07.57, while freshman
Christina Lazari took first place in the 200 breaststroke tallying a time of 2:20.18. Lazari's notable performances include placing second in 100 breastsroke (1:05.21) along with the 50 free (24.14 seconds).Â
Sophomore
Meghan Speicher performed well, notching two third place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:54.12) and the 500 freestyle (5:09.69), also placing fourth in the 100 free tallying a time of 52.71 seconds.Â

Maddy Samuels, and
Meghan Speicher placed second in the 800 and 200 yard freestyle. Â
