Women’s Golf Caps the Season on a High Note

Emmitsburg, Md (October 9, 2022) – The Mountaineers' women's team capped their season on a high not as they placed third in the JEL Outer Banks Intercollegiate. As a team they collectively put together a sound score of 981 (+117) across three rounds. Sophomore Erika Cui and freshman Chloe Sipe were the Mountaineers' top performers, Cui finished fifth with a final score of 239 (+23), while Sipe finished seventh with a final score of 243 (+27).
 
Navy finished atop the team leaderboards with a final score of 932 (+68). Mara Hirtle and Jenna Han capitalized in this tournament as they finished in first and second on the individual leaderboards, complementing Navy's placing of first.
 
Freshman Naomi Yacyshen finished tied for 11th with a final score of 247 (+31), while freshman Makensy Knaub placed 13th with a final score of 252 (+36). Freshman Jennifer Sorkin placed 18th with a final score of 260 (+44). Graduate student Michaila Cheung finished in 20th with a score of 267 (+51), while freshman Allie Sexton finished 23rd with a score of 283 (+67).
