EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 31, 2021) – On day one of the Northeast Conference Swimming championships, 12 Mount St. Mary's men's players were finalists, while 
Valeria Villagran posted the most points on the women's side.
The 12 players qualified for one event each. The highest point totals came from freshman 
Nicholas Santorelli, who finished fourth in the 500 yard freestyle. Along with his time of 4:36.21 as an individual, he swam the first leg of the 400 yard medley relay, finishing in 52.21 to aid a third place effort.
Villagran qualified for the 50 yard freestyle, and her time of 23.96 earned her sixth in the field. The senior also posted a 23.85 for her section of the 200 freestyle relay.
After the first day, the men stand in fourth with 161 points while the women are eighth with 72 points. Day two of the championship takes place Wednesday.
