EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 27, 2021) – Mount St. Mary's divers enjoyed success Saturday during the team's meet at Towson. As a unit, the swimming and diving teams dropped both contests, with the men falling 139-103 and the women losing 153-97.
Ian Schirra took first in the men's 1 meter diving program, earning a final score of 130.43.
Brendan Flanagan and
Timmy Bonner rounded out the top three.
On the women's side,
Analiese Jezowski placed at the top of the 1 meter dive leaderboard with a score of 161.03. Following the freshman were
Catherine Davis and
Montana Griffith in the second and third spots. A fourth diver,
Laura Kingham, won the 3 meter event with a score of 148.42.
More top performances include
Ryan Griffiths, who took third in the 100 yard backstroke, swimming the event in 54.77 seconds. He also would take fourth in the 50 yard freestyle.
Ethan Pham finished second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 53.54.
Eliza Felos raced the 100 yard free in 56.42 seconds to earn runner-up status, as did
Juliet Whitman for her 1:02.43 effort in the 100 fly.
The third and final regular season meet is scheduled for March 6
th at VMI.
