EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 3, 2021) – A second half goal by the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers gave them a 1-0 victory over the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers Sunday afternoon in Emmitsburg.
Raul Luna fired two shots for the Mount, and
Adam Siviter recorded five saves.
After a tough defensive first half, St. Francis broke through to fire 17 shots at Siviter. Only one goal – a header from El Madhi Youssoufi – came in the 53
rd minute. The shot lasered into the upper left-hand corner of the net.
A chance from
Quentin Hall in the final minutes of the contest sailed over the crossbar. The Terriers ran out the clock to preserve the win. The Mount falls to 2-8 on the season.
Mount St. Mary's remains at home for a Wednesday evening showdown with James Madison. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium.
