EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 16, 2021) – Mount St. Mary's men's golf defeats the Gettysburg men's golf team 13-5 in a Ruder Cup showdown this afternoon.

The Mount won seven of the 12 individual matchups outright and tying three of the matches. Coach Kevin Farrell beat Gettysburg's head coach Jason Badecki in their match with freshman Aaron Sorkin, junior Mitchell Gallo, junior Sergio Quijano Sanin, senior Matthew Kinsey, freshman Devin Smith, and senior Joshua Brown won their matches. Sophomores Hank Schaefer and Juan Fradera with freshman Devin Peart tied their games and received half a point in the singles matches.

The teams then played doubles matches, with the Mount winning four of the six matchups and drawing one of them. Coach Farrell and senior Michael Robinson won their matchup with Fradera and Sorkin also winning their matchup. Seniors Jack Snyder and Kinsey won by one hole, with Brown and Smith winning the fourth match for the Mountaineers. Gallo and Quijano tied their game against the Bullets.

The men's golf team has concluded their fall season and will compete again in the spring season.
