MOUNT UPDATE
Both the men's and women's golf teams return to action for the first time since back in October for the Lonnie Barton Invitational. The two-day 54-hole event will take place at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on the par-72, 7,088-yard course.
FLASHING BACK
Last year at the Lonnie Barton Invitational, the Mount men's golf team finished 18th at the tournament with two-round team score of 645. Nacho Gomez finished tied for 17th in the individual standings with a two-round score of 152. On the women's side, Olivia Gardenhour finished in 11th place to highlight play for the Mountaineers. Michaila Cheung finished the tournament with a two-round total of 183 after posting scores of 93 and 90.
PRESEASON POLLS
Announced by the Northeast Conference on February 5th, the Mount men's golf team was projected to finish 7th in the conference. Robert Morris was tabbed preseason favorite by the coaches around the league. On the women's side, the Mountaineers were picked to come in 6th place. Fairleigh Dickinson was the unanimous pick to repeat as champions on the women's side.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The Mount men's golf team will return to action on March 21-22 at The Carpetbegger Classic in Urban, Maryland. The women's team will have a few weeks off before heading to the Explorer Invitational in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 30-31.
