The Mountaineers were picked to finish second in the NIRA Tier II Preseason Coaches' Poll for the 2019 fall 15's season just behind American International. The 2019 Mountaineers will be led by NIRA Tier II All-Americans Jordan Butcher and Maya Grassi while NIRA Tier II All-American Honorable Mention Julie Crochet will also play a huge role for the team. Coach Farrah Douglas' squad is looking to repeat as NIRA Tier II champions as they began the 2019 season with a key victory over preseason favorites American International.
STRONG START
The Mount women's rugby team opened up the Fall 15's season with a key victory over NIRA Tier II preseason favorites, American International. A late second half surge allowed the Mountaineers to propel themselves over the Yellow Jackets and hold on for a 19-17 win. Jenna Lewaren, Taylor Mensah, and Jalana Garcia each had a try for the Mountaineers. Maya Grassi came up clutch for the Mountaineers with two of three conversion kicks and a late punt out of Mount territory to secure the win.

The Mountaineers will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina for their first road match of the year against Queens College on Saturday, September 21st at 12 p.m.
