INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
Grasonville, Md. (April 7, 2019) – The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team earned its best finish of the season, placing in a tie for eighth place after rounding out play at the Towson Invitational at Prospect Bay Country Club on Sunday. The Mountaineers posted a team score of 300 on the final day for a two-round total of 603. Nacho Gomez finished in a tie for fourth place on the individual leaderboard with a two-round total of 146.
Youngstown State, Towson and Sacred Heart tied for the top score at the invite with scores of 588.
Gomez' fourth-place showing was the best by a Mountaineers this season. The sophomore shot a 73 (+1) during each of his rounds for a 146 (+2) overall. Pablo Alonso was was the Mount's next top finisher, following up his 74 (+2) yesterday with a 75 (+3) on Sunday to record a 149 (+5) overall.
Matt Kinsey closed things out with a 76 (+4) on Sunday for a two-round total of 155 (+11), Michael Robinson shot a 79 (+7) to finish with a 156 (+12), and Jack Snyder fired a 76 (+4) to register a 160 (+16) overall.
Joshua Brown, who was competing individually, shot a 79 (+7) on Sunday and finished with a 155 (+11).
The Mount heads to the Navy Invitational on April 19-20 for its final competition before the Northeast Conference Championships.
