The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team resumes competition at the Towson Spring Invitational on April 6-7 at the Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Maryland.
The Mountaineers are coming off an 18th-place finish at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary last week. The Mount fired a three-round team score of 948 at the event.
Nacho Gomez led the way for the Mountaineers at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, finishing in a tie for 33rd on the individual leaderboard. Gomez shot rounds of 76, 74 and 76 for a total of 226. Matt Kinsey was the team's next top finisher, posting rounds of 81, 73 and 86 for a score of 240. Kinsey's second-round 73 was the lowest by any Mount player at the event. Pablo Alonso (84-74-84—242), Michael Robinson (90-79-75—244) and Jack Straub (86-93-91—270) rounded out the team's scoring at the tournament.
Following the Towson Spring Invite, the Mountaineers head to the Navy Spring Invitational on April 19-20 for their final tune-up before conference championships.
