NAVY SPRING INVITATIONAL

The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team is set for its final tune-up before conference championships at the Navy Spring Invitational on April 19-20 at the Naval Academy Golf Club.

In addition to the Mountaineers, the field includes: Navy, Binghamton, Lafayette, La Salle, Lehigh, LIU Brooklyn, Methodist College, Saint Francis U, St. Francis Brooklyn, St. John's and Saint Joseph's.

The Mount is coming off its best finish of the season after placing in a tie for eighth place at the Towson Invitational last weekend. The Mountaineers posted a two-round total of 603 to earn the eight-place showing.

Nacho Gomez finished in a tie for fourth place on the individual leaderboard, as he registered the team's best individual finish of the season. The sophomore shot a 73 (+1) during each of his rounds for a 146 (+2) overall. Pablo Alonso was the Mount's next top finisher, following up his 74 (+2) on the opening day with a 75 (+3) in his final round to record a 149 (+5) overall.

Matt Kinsey shot a 155 (+11), Michael Robinson posted a 156 (+12), and Jack Snyder fired a 160 (+16) to round out the team's scoring at the tournament.

Following the Navy Spring Invitational, the Mount will compete at the Northeast Conference Championships on April 26-28.
