West Chester, Pa. (November 9th, 2019) – The Mount Saint Mary's women's rugby team was downed by West Chester 32-19 on Saturday in the NIRA Tier II Semifinals. Three straight tries for the Golden Rams in the final twenty minutes sealed their trip to NIRA Tier II Championship next weekend against Brown at Harvard. The Mountaineers had tries from Shandree McNatt, Julie Crochet, and Jalana Jade Garcia while Maya Grassi converted on two kicks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountaineers jumped out to a quick 12-0 lead within the first twenty minutes of play with tries from Shandree McNatt and Julie Crochet while Maya Grassi converted on one of the conversion kicks.
- The Golden Rams bounced back with 17 unanswered points to take a 17-12 lead just four minutes into the second half. Autumn Czaplicki, Faith Morley, and Heather Spangler all had tries for West Chester.
- With under thirty minutes to play, Jalana Jade Garcia scored a try and Grassi converted the kick to give the Mount the lead back 19-17.
- The last twenty minutes was all West Chester as three tries from Haley Spangler shut the door on the Mountaineers upset bid to secure the victory 32-19.
