SETTING THE SCENE
The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swimming & diving teams open the 2019-20 season at the New England Catholic Invitational.
THE COMPETITION: Competing at this year's New England Catholic Invitational will be Boston College, Assumption, Fairfield, Holy Cross, La Salle, Mount St. Mary's and Providence.
2018-19 SEASON RECAP
The Mount women's swimming and diving team posted a 5-3 mark in dual meets last season while finishing in eighth place at the Northeast Conference championships. The Mount men's swimming and diving program posted a 1-10 record last year in dual meets, and finished in sixth place at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championships
MEN'S NEWCOMERS
The men's team added nine newcomers to the lineup this year. Mark Boiko (Long Valley, N.J.), Timmy Bonner (Glenelg, Md.), Will Cornish (York, Pa.), Luke Davis (Boulder, Colo.), Griffin Distler (Annapolis, Md.), Bryan Henager (Rockaway, N.J.), Caleb Padgett (Carlisle, Pa.), Bryace Rounds (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Martin Vasquez (Cape Coral, Fla.) enter their first seasons at the Mount.
WOMEN'S NEWCOMERS
The women's squad added five newcomers for the upcoming season. Courtney Dodd (Hanover, Pa.), Montana Griffith (Fulton, Md.), Taylor Koch (New Market, Md.), Emiley Lynch (Anthem, Ariz) and Marissa Roberts (Taneytown, Md.) enter their first season with the Mount this year.
LOOKING AHEAD
Both the men's and women's teams will compete at Monmouth on November 1 and St. Francis Brooklyn on November 2.
