Swimming & Diving preps for two meets against Monmouth, St. Francis Brooklyn

SETTING THE SCENE

Following a month off, Mount St. Mary's swimming & diving travels to a pair of dual meets, facing Monmouth this Friday (Nov. 1) at 4 p.m. and St. Francis Brooklyn 1 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 2). These matchups represent the first of five duel meets for the Mountaineers this season. 

LAST TIME OUT

The team is coming off their season opener at the Northeast Catholic Invitational, hosted by Boston College. During the weekend, the men's squad earned 344 points while the women earned 155.5. In the team standings in Boston, the Mount men finished fifth while the women's team was seventh.

Top performers included John Wilson, who finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.08 to lead the Mount men and Kira Buchler was third in the 100-yard women's backstroke at 59.00 seconds. Will Twizell took fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (59.53). 

THE COMPETITION  

Monmouth's men has started with a 2-1 record, including victories against Montclair State and Fairfield. The Hawks' women also defeated Montclair to start 1-2. For the Terriers, the women stand 3-2 while the men are seeking their first win. 

LOOKING AHEAD

Prior to Thanksgiving, Mount St. Mary's heads to the Franklin & Marshall Invitational from November 22-24.
