Jack Snyder Leads Mount Men's Golf on Opening Day of Turning Stone-Tiger Intercollegiate

Verona, N.Y. (September 2, 2018) -- The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team made its return to Division I competition on Sunday for the first time since the 2012-13 season, competing in the Turning Stone-Tiger Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Missouri. Jack Snyder paced the Mountaineers with a seven-over-par through the opening two rounds.

The Mountaineers posted rounds of 312 and 319 as a team on Sunday, putting them in 17th place with a combined score of 631. Missouri is at the top of the team leaderboard with a score of 560, while North Dakota State (572) and Boston College (588) round out the top three.

Snyder shot the low score of the day for the Mount, registering a 73 in his opening round before following with a 78 in round two to finish +7 on the day. Sophomore Nacho Gomez shot 77 in both of his rounds on Sunday to round it out at +10 overall.

Matt Kinsey (80-82), Pablo Alonso (82-82) and Nick McCann (88-83) were the other three players to compete for the Mount on the opening day.

The Mount returns to action tomorrow (Sept. 3) for the final round of the Turning Stone-Tiger Intercollegiate.
