Men's Golf Completes Opening Round of Hartford Hawks Invitational

South Kent, Conn. (September 17, 2018) -- The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team put forth a strong showing during the opening round of the Hartford Hawks Invitational on Monday from the Bull's Bridge Golf Club.

Nacho Gomez led the way for the Mount with a 77 in the opening round of play.

Matt Kinsey fired his best round of the season thus far with a 78, and sits in a tie with teammate Pablo Alonso through one round.

Nick McCann carded a 79, and Jack Snyder posted an 85 to round out the scoring for the Mountaineers on Monday.

The Mount sits in 19th place in the team standings with a score of 312. Central Florida leads the pack with a 274, while UConn (275) and Rhode Island (281) close out the top three spots.

Round two was still in progress as the night ended and will be completed tomorrow (Sept. 18) barring rain, followed by the final round of competition.
