SETTING THE SCENE
The Mount St. Mary's University women's swimming & diving team heads to the Northeast Conference Championships spanning February 21-24 at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y. Action will be streamed live on NECFrontRow.com.
Mount St. Mary's will compete alongside Bryant, Central Connecticut, LIU Brooklyn, Sacred Heart, St. Francis Brooklyn, Saint Francis U and Wagner during the four-day event.
ABOUT THE MOUNT
Mount St. Mary's opened the 2017-18 campaign with a 6-0 dual meet record, marking the best-ever start to a season in program history. During the stretch, the Mount topped VMI twice, Monmouth, Saint Peter's, Howard and St. Francis Brooklyn, before dropping its final two dual meets at La Salle and Loyola.
The Mountaineers competed in a pair of invitationals during the season, placing third overall at the Franklin & Marshall Invite with 777 team points, before following it up with a fourth-place finish at the Loyola Invitational with 479 points.

LAST YEAR'S CHAMPIONSHIPS
Central Connecticut won its third-straight NEC title and sixth in program history last year, collecting 26 medals and 869.5 team points. Bryant finished second with 605 points and Wagner rounded out the top-three with 578.5 points. The Mount finished in seventh place overall and registered seven top-10 finishes in individual events at the championships, led by a pair from Maggie deTar, who placed eighth in the 1650 free and swam to a ninth-place showing in the 500 free.
