Hershey, Pa. (March 21, 2017) - Mount St. Mary's men's tennis edged by Bucknell 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Mount took the early point advantage in doubles action securing wins in the first and third flight. DeSomocurcio/Mast defeated Palmer/Vitiuc in the first flight and Tonon/Wortkotter defeated Adams/Kane in the third flight.
Singles action came down to the last flight, Armstrong vs McDonald, and came down to the tie-breaker set. DeSomocurcio picked up the win in the first flight but the Bisons recorded wins in the next three flights before the Mountaineers' Landis won the fifth flight. Armstrong won the first set of the sixth flight but McDonald took the second set forcing the tie-breaker set. The set came down to the last point as McDonald took the decision 7-6 giving Bucknell the match victory.
