Mount Women's Swimming Falls to Campbell and UNC Wilmington

Buies Creek, N.C. (February 6, 2015) – The Mount St. Mary's University women's swimming team competed in its final meet before the Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday at the Johnson Aquatic Center. The Mountaineers fell to Campbell, 216-45, and dropped a 210-51 decision to UNC Wilmington.

Amanda Moore, Lauren Gullickson, Morgan Runk and Maddie McGraw opened the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 200 medley relay, clocking in at 1:56.70.

Moore and Haley Fournier registered the Mount's top individual finishes of the afternoon, each claiming fourth-place showings. Moore swam the 200 free in 1:57.68 and Fournier posted a time of 10:49.78 in the 1000 free as both swimmers took fourth place. Moore also registered a fifth-place showing in the 100 fly as she touched the wall in 1:00.11.

In the final event of the night, Moore, Fournier, Lenna Castro and McGraw earned a fifth-place finish in the 200 free relay as they clocked in at 1:44.42.

The Mount begins the first day of competition at the Northeast Conference Championships on Wednesday, February 24, and wraps up the four-day event on Saturday, February 27.
