Cambridge, Mass. (February 26, 2016) – Mount St. Mary's University women's swimming moved into seventh place following the third day of competition of the NEC Championships at the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center Friday night.
Amanda Moore posted the Mount's top individual finish for the second consecutive night, placing 15th in the 100 fly with a time of 58.18.
In the 400 IM, the Mountaineers finished 16-17-18, led by Sarah Bonson, who clocked in at 4:39.60. Bridget Vaughan and Mary Lombardi took the next two spots with times of 4:44.20 and 4:45.83, respectively.
Alyssa Felos led the Mount in the 100 breast, taking 16th place in 1:11.38. She was followed by Lauren Gullickson (1:08.75) in 17th and Hunter Montevideo (1:12.82) in 22nd. JeMoon Won clocked in at 1:59.32 in the 200 free to earn the Mount's top finish in the event.
In the final event of the night, the 400 medley relay, Maddie McGraw, Gullickson, Moore and Haley Fournier clocked in at 4:00.30 to collect a seventh-place showing.
With one day of competition remaining, Wagner owns the top spot with 510 team points and is followed by Central Connecticut with 505 points. Bryant (347 pts.), Saint Francis U (310), LIU Brooklyn (296), Sacred Heart (133), Mount St. Mary's (105) and St. Francis Brooklyn (90) round out the standings.
The fourth and final day of the championships will be held on Saturday (February 27) with the prelims at 10 a.m. and finals heats at 6 p.m. Competition will feature the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relay. Action can be seen for free on NECFrontRow.com.
