Mount Women's Swimming Wraps Up Day One of NEC Championships

Cambridge, Mass. (February 24, 2016) – Mount St. Mary's University wrapped up the first day of competition at the Northeast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday at the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center.

The Mountaineers closed out the night with a seventh-place finish in the 800 free relay as Amanda Moore, JeMoon Won, Haley Fournier and Bridget Vaughan clocked in at 7:50.93.

In the 200 medley relay, the Mount's 'A' relay squad was disqualified due to an early take off, but the 'B' squad made up of Alexandra Kelly, Alyssa Felos, Hailey Vogt and Juliette Lacoste posted a time of 1:54.45.

Wagner and Central Connecticut sit in a tie for first place with 74 points apiece, while LIU Brooklyn, Saint Francis U and Bryant are all tied for third with 60 points.  

Day two of the championships begin Thursday (February 25), with prelims set for 10 a.m. and finals heats at 6 p.m. The second day of competition will feature the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 200 free relay. Action can be seen for free at NECFrontRow.com.
