Mount Women's Swimming Sits in Fifth After Day One of NEC Championships

Cambridge, Mass. (February 25, 2015) – The Mount St. Mary's women's swimming team kicked off the first day of the Northeast Conference Championships on Wednesday night with a pair of relays at the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center at MIT. Through two events, the Mount sits in fifth place with 28 points.

In the 200 medley relay, the Mount's team of Morgan Runk (Toms River, N.J.), Haley Fournier (Ave Maria, Fla.), Erin Regan (Ft. Washington, Pa.) and Amanda Moore (Katy, Texas) put together a fifth-place finish in 1:46.47. The time was 0.6 seconds off the school record time of 1:46.41 set at last year's NEC Championships.

The Mount's 800 free relay squad turned in a sixth-place finish on the night, clocking in with a school-record time of 7:41.99. In the event, Fournier, Moore and Regan teamed with freshman JeMoon Won (Springfield, Va.) to best the previous program record of 7:43.09 set earlier this season at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.

The four-day NEC Championships continue tomorrow.
