RESULTS

Emmitsburg, Md. (January 17, 2015) – In the final home meet of the season at the Mount Swimming Pool, the Mount St. Mary's women's swimming team was handed a 134-123 defeat by Duquesne despite three individual wins from senior Erin Regan.

The Mount, which honored Regan, Catherine Sukovich and Anne Thelen with a Senior Day ceremony, finished first in six of the 12 individual events on the day in the loss to the Dukes.

Making her final career home appearance, Regan touched the wall first in the 200m fly (2:22.48), 100m free (1:00.34) and the 100m fly (1:06.13). Regan's winning 200m fly time of 2:22.48 was a new school record, breaking her own previous time of 2:23.72 set Feb. 2, 2013 versus Loyola.

Junior Haley Fournier also put together a strong afternoon with first-place finishes in the 1500m free (17:33.90) and 100m breast (1:17.18). Fournier, who holds the school's 1500m free record of 17:24.57 from earlier this season, won the event by nearly 50 seconds on Saturday.

The other individual victory on the day came courtesy of freshman Bridget Vaughan in the 400m free (4:38.81), beating the second-place finisher from Duquesne by three seconds.

In runner-up finishes for the Mountaineers, freshman JeMoon Won took second in the 200 free (2:13.51), sophomore Amanda Moore placed second in the 100 back (1:08.04) and the 50 free (28.10), while Fournier finished second in the 200 breast (4:48.31).

Up next, the Mount competes at Loyola in Baltimore, Md. on Jan. 30 at 5 p.m.
