FINAL RESULTS
Lancaster, Pa. (November 23, 2014) – Senior Erin Regan won her second individual event in as many days as the Mount St. Mary's women's swimming team concluded the three-day Franklin & Marshall Invitational at McGinness Pool inside the Kunkel Aquatic Center on Sunday.
Regan saved her best 200 fly time of the day for last, touching the wall first in 2:06.08 to win the finals. In what was the top time by a Mount swimmer in the event this season, Regan beat the second-place finisher on Sunday by more than two seconds. The senior qualified for the finals in 2:12.41 to take third in the prelims earlier in the day.
Sophomore Sarah Bonson was not far behind Regan in the finals of the 200 fly with a third-place finish in 2:10.05.
Turning in another third-place finish, Amanda Moore was one of three swimmers to break 53 seconds in the 100 free on the day, taking home third in 52.94 in the finals. Earlier in the day, Moore posted a 53.86 finish in the event in the prelims.
In the lone relay of the day, the Mount took second place in the 400 free relay. The Mount's team of Regan, Moore, Lenna Castro Marquez and Haley Fournier clocked in at 3:33.80, less than a second behind the winning squad from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Individually, Fournier placed sixth in the 500 free (5:16.38) after finishing second in the prelims in 5:12.03.
Morgan Runk qualified for the finals of the 200 back with a preliminary time of 2:11.36 to place fifth. In the evening session, Runk improved her time to 2:10.38 to jump up to fourth.
In the 200 IM, freshman Juliette Lacoste won the B Finals in 2:14.68, which would have placed her sixth in the A Finals on the day.
Mount St. Mary's finished third overall in the team competition with 484 points. Stevens Institute of Technology claimed the top spot with 728 points, followed by Washington & Lee with 712.
The Mount will not compete again until Jan. 7, 2015 when the team makes a trip to Winter Park, Fla. to take on Gordon College and Rollins College.
