Mount Women's Swimming Leads After Day One of Franklin & Marshall Invitational

DAY ONE RESULTS

Lancaster, Pa. (November 21, 2014) – The Mount St. Mary's women's swimming team is leading the field at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational with 132 points after three events on day one on Friday night.

Junior Haley Fournier won the 1650 free (17:10.14), setting a new meet record and besting the second-place finisher on the day by nearly 20 seconds. Fournier's time was just two seconds off her school record of 17:08.14 set at last season's Highlander Invitational. 

Also competing in the 1650 free, freshman Bridget Vaughan secured fourth (18:03.76) and sophomore Sarah Bonson took sixth (18:22.22).

In the 400 medley relay, the team of Amanda Moore, Fournier, Erin Regan and Juliette Lacoste put together a third-place finish in 3:59.18.

In the other relay on the night, the 200 free relay, the Mount's squad of JeMoon Won, Catherine Sukovich, Moore and Anne Thelen clocked in at 1:40.27 to take sixth.

With 132 points, the Mount is six points ahead of second-place Washington & Lee with 126 points. Stevens Institute of Technology (96 pts), Ramapo (83 pts) and Franklin & Marshall (79 pts) round out the top five. 

The Franklin & Marshall Invitational continues tomorrow and concludes on Sunday.
