Mount Men's Golf Remains in 19th at Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational

Grasonville, Md. (April 1, 2013) – Following Sunday's opening round total of 323, the Mount improved by 10 strokes with Monday's score of 313 at Prospect Bay Country Club to remain in 19th place. Eric Flockhart fired the Mount's top round for the second-consecutive day with a score of 75 (+3) to jump up to a tie for 14th place.

Flockhart recorded birdies on the second hole then followed up on the par-4 17th with another birdie. Monday's 75 brings his two-day total to a team-leading 151 (+7).

Mike Shine, who carded a 78 yesterday, birdied twice on the front nine on his way to a second round score of 76 (+4). Shine is tied for 36th individually with 154 total strokes through 36 holes.

The biggest improvement of the day came courtesy of Andrew Lawton, who dropped eight strokes from his round one 85 to shoot 77 (+5) on Monday with a birdie on 17.

Michael Pansini is fourth among Mount players after his round of 85 (+13), and Zach O'Grady had the team's fifth-best score of the day, shooting an 87 (+15).

William and Mary remains in first place with a two-round total of 583.

Play at Prospect Bay will conclude tomorrow.
