Mount Men's Golf Wraps Up C&F Bank Invitational

Williamsburg, Va. (March 26, 2013)-- The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team concluded the C&F Bank Invitational on Tuesday by shooting 317 as a team to place 30th overall. Freshman Mike Shine turned in the Mount's top performance with a career-best round of 77.

The three-round tournament was condensed to one round due to inclement weather in the area. The Mount played six holes on Sunday, then finished the final 12 on Tuesday.

Shine's best collegiate round of 77 (+7) helped him tie for 91st in the individual competition. Andrew Lawton had the Mount's second-best score, finishing two stokes behind Shine at 79 (+9) in a tie for 115th.

Eric Flockhart's round of 80 (+10) in 124th place, was followed closely by Michael Pansini's score of 81 (+11) in 135th overall.

In the Mount's fifth slot, Zach O'Grady rounded out the scoring by carding 89 (+19) in the round.

Tennessee finished with five players shooting 75 or better for a 285 score to win the team competition followed by Florida State and Michigan, which tied for second with team scores of 287. Individually, Eastern Michigan's Casey Olsen and Notre Dame's Cory Sciupider tied for first with identical scores of 67 (-3).

Next up, the Mount will compete in the Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational in Grasonville, Md. scheduled for March 31 through April 2.
