Emmitsburg, Md. (November 2, 2013) -- The Mount St. Mary's women's swimming team was handed a 156-94 loss by preseason Northeast Conference-favorite Wagner on Saturday afternoon at the Mount Swimming Pool. During the meet, the Mount honored Cat Coppler, Emily Dargay, Nicole Helmick, Erin Regan, Victoria Shaw and Mollie Walsh with a senior day ceremony.
Regan and sophomore Haley Fournier notched wins on the individual side with Regan winning the 100 fly and Fournier picking up a victory in the 1500 free.
After winning the 100 fly earlier in the meet in 1:05.30, Regan went on to place second in the 200 fly (2:25.78) as well.
In the second event of the afternoon, Fournier won the 1500 free (17:24.57), topping reigning NEC Swimmer of the Week Grace Baird, in second place (17:43.59).
Adding second-place finishes on the day were Walsh and freshman Amanda Moore.
Walsh claimed second in the 50 free (27.90) falling to Wagner's Anu Nihipali (27.70) by .2 of a second, while Moore's time of 1:00.08 was second best on the day in the 100 free.
In the final event on Saturday, the 200 freestyle relay, the Mount's squad of Allison Baker, Walsh, Moore and Regan combined for a 1:49.96 finish to take second behind Wagner's top team in 1:49.90.
Next on the schedule, the Mount heads to Washington, D.C. to face Mary Washington and Howard on Nov. 16.
