MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
Bethlehem, Pa. (August 31, 2012)—The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2012 season at the Lehigh Invitational on Friday. The women's team finished in fifth place with the men finishing in 10th place.
Senior Megan Kinsella was the Mount's top finisher on the women's side, placing 22nd in the field with a time of 23:43.19 for the 6-kilometer course. Megan Schott finished 28th (24:00.77) while McKenzie Doyle was 32nd (24:08.83). The top five was rounded out by freshman Madeline Rico (25:01.21, 44th) and Colleen Smith (25:28.92, 55th).
The men's team was paced by freshman Chris Jewell, who finished 28th in the field with a time of 19:39.61. Chris Swisko was the Mount's second-fastest runner on the day, placing 32nd with a time of 19:45.06. The rest of the top five included Shane Holcomb (20:31.73, 60th), Jesse Langton (20:37.22, 64th) and Vinny Cherry (20:57.20, 76th).
The Mount is back in action on Saturday, September 8, in a preview of the Northeast Conference Championship course at Bryant University.
