NEC Women's Golf Championship Headquarters
Daytona Beach, Fla. (April 27, 2012)--The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team stands in 10th place after the first day of the Northeast Conference Golf Championships on Friday. The 54-hole tournament is being held at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Mountaineers posted a team score of 349 in the opening round of the championship. Christina Hall led the Mountaineers with an 84, followed by Sarah Roe (87), Nicole Fazio (88) and Kelsey Hayward (90).
Fairleigh Dickinson leads after day one with a score of 305, followed by LIU Brooklyn (308), Sacred Heart (310), Monmouth (315), Saint Francis (Pa.) (324), Wagner (325), Central Connecticut State (327), Robert Morris (328), Quinnipiac (344), the Mount (349) and St. Francis (N.Y.) (395).
On the individual scoreboard, Cristina Felip and Esther Park of Fairleigh Dickinson are tied for first after first round scores of 73. Carly Bergin (Sacred Heart) and Brianna Maynard (LIU Brooklyn) are tied for third after shooting a 75 today. Hall's 84 today is good for a tie for 31st in the individual standings.
The tournament continues tomorrow with round two.
