Women's Golf Sits Fifth After First Day Of Mount St. Mary's Invitational

LITTLESTOWN, Pa. – Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) finished 12th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a fifth-place standing after the first day of the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational on Monday.  

Roe posted an 83 in the first round and an 84 in the second round to post a two-round total of 167 and finish in 12th place, 14 strokes behind the current leader.

Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (17th place, 171), Nicole Fazio (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (19th place, 172), Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy) (21st place, 173) and Abby Fry (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) (28th place, 180) rounded out the Mount's team competitors. Fazio posted a team-low score of 80 in the first round.

Rebecca Lynch (Ledyard, Conn./Ledyard) (27th place, 178) and Sara Fuss (Newtown Square, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) (34th place, 195) competed in the event as an individual.

Robert Morris leads the three-round two-day event with a score of 646, two strokes ahead of Wagner (648) while Fairfield (649), Central Connecticut State (649), the Mount (682) and St. Francis (N.Y.) (739) rounded out the six-team field.

Mount St. Mary's returns to action in the final round of the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational on Tuesday. The Mount will tee off at 8 a.m.
