SAVANNAH, Ga. – Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) and Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy) finished tied for 12th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a fourth-place standing at the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Tuesday.
Hall and Hayward posted an 86 and an 82 in the two rounds to card a 168 and finish in 12th place, 13 strokes behind the medalist.
Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (14th place, 169), Nicole Fazio (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (28th place, 176) and Jen Kim (Blue Bell, Pa./Methacton) (37th place, 184) rounded out the Mount's five competitors.
LIU Brooklyn won its own two-day event with a score of 647, 12 strokes ahead of Sacred Heart (659) while Central Connecticut State (672), the Mount (681), Robert Morris (682), Fairfield (685), Saint Francis (Pa.) (687) and Niagara (707) rounded out the eight-team field. The Mountaineers posted a 349 in the first round and a 332 in the second round to card a 681 in the two rounds.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the C&F Bank Invitational on Mar. 18.
