SAVANNAH, Ga. – Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) and Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy) finished tied for 14th after the first round to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a seventh-place standing at the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Monday.
Roe and Hayward each finished the first round with a score of 86 to place 14th place, 10 strokes behind the leader.
Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (20th place, 87), Nicole Fazio (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (29th place, 90) and Jen Kim (Blue Bell, Pa./Methacton) (40th place, 96) rounded out the Mount's five competitors.
LIU Brooklyn leads its own two-day event with a score of 327, six strokes ahead of Sacred Heart (333) while Saint Francis (Pa.) (337), Central Connecticut State (340), Robert Morris (344), Fairfield (348), the Mount (349) and Niagara (366) round out the eight-team field.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action in the final round of the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Tuesday.
