EMMITSBURG, Md. – Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy) finished 50th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a 13th-place standing at the Spider Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
Hayward posted rounds of 83, 78 and 87 in the two days to finish with a score of 248 and in 50th place, 30 strokes behind the medalist.
Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (52nd place, 249), Abbey Fry (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) (64th place, 257), Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (74th place, 268) and Rebecca Lynch (Ledyard, Conn./Ledyard) (81st place, 290) rounded out the Mount's team competitors. Nicole Fazio (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (78th place, 268) participated in the event as an individual.
St. John's won the two-day, three-round event with a score of 911, 11 strokes ahead of Georgetown (921) while Richmond (927), Lehigh (961) and Youngstown State (964) rounded out the Top-5 teams. The Mount carded a 343, 335 and 343 in the three rounds to finish with a total of 1021 and in 13th place.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational on Apr. 16 at the Quail Valley Golf Club in Littlestown, Pa.
