George Mason Defeats Men's Tennis on Friday

Emmitsburg, Md. (March 23, 2012)-- The Mount men's tennis team fell to George Mason on Friday afternoon, 5-2. The Patriots came out of the gates by winning two of the three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead.

The doubles team of Matthew Blake and Taylor Place won another doubles match at the No. 1 spot. The duo has won all their doubles matches this week. They defeated Jordan Dyke and Jimmy Davis 8-6.

In singles action, junior Mike Salomon picked up another win at the No. 4 spot. Salomon defeated Scott Keaton; 6-2, 6-4 on Friday. The other Mount point was earned by freshman Adam Salam in the No. 2 position. Salam picked up a win against Jimmy Davis, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.

The men return to action on Saturday, March 31, when they resume their match against Bucknell. The match was postponed due to rain on Tuesday. The match will begin at 10:00 AM.
