Men's Tennis Rolls Past UMES

Emmitsburg, Md. (March 21, 2012)-- The men's tennis team rolled past UMES on Wednesday, winning all three doubles matches and all six singles matches to earn the victory. 

The duo of Matthew Blake and Taylor Place continued their winning ways, by starting off the day with an 8-1 victory at the No. 1 spot over Malcolm Johnson and Andre Costica. Mike Zabetakis teamed up with Patrick McGinley in the No. 2 spot to down Wirlen Elame and Wayne Heath, 8-1. Riley Gates and Paul Chae played in the No. 3 spot and earned an 8-0 victory over Christopher Charles and George Justice. 

In singles, the Mount won all six matches in straight sets, dropping only one game. Blake, Adam Salam, Zabetakis, Justin Olexa, and Jastin Mostowtt all won 6-0, 6-0. Mike Salomon won 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot. 

The Mount returns to action this Friday, with a big home match against George Mason. The match is set to begin at 3:00 PM.
