WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy) finished 39th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a 19th-place finish at the C&F Bank Invitational on Tuesday.
Hayward has posted consecutive rounds of 78 in the first round and then posted an 82 in the final round to card a 238 and finish in 39th place, 17 strokes behind the medalist.
Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (80th place, 257), Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (89th place, 265), Rebecca Lynch (Ledyard, Conn./Ledyard) (101st place, 289) and Nicole Fazio (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (103rd place, 294) rounded out the Mount's competitors.
Longwood won the three-day event with a score of 912, 11 strokes ahead of St. John's (922) while St. Leo (923), Toledo (925) and Pennsylvania (928) round out the Top-5 teams. The Mount finished in 19th place after carding 349, 349 and 360 for a total of 1048 in the three rounds.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the Spider Golf Intercollegiate on Sunday.
