WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy) finished 24th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a 18th-place finish after the second round of the C&F Bank Invitational on Monday.
Hayward has posted consecutive rounds of 78 to card a 156 in the first two rounds to stand in 27th place, 11 strokes behind the current leader.
Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (82nd place, 176), Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (86th place, 177), Nicole Fazio (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (98th place, 190) and Rebecca Lynch (Ledyard, Conn./Ledyard) (98th place, 190) rounded out the Mount's competitors.
Longwood leads the three-day event with a score of 603, 11 strokes ahead of St. Leo (614) while Boston College (617), St. John's (620) and Lehigh (621) round out the Top-5 teams. The Mount finished the first round in 18th place after carding back-to-back 349's in the first two days of the competition.
Mount St. Mary's competes in the final round of the C&F Bank Invitational on Tuesday.
