DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Jen Kim (Blue Bell, Pa./Methacton) finished 24th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a seventh-place standing at the Gary Freeman B-CU Invitational on Tuesday. The event was the Mount's first event in the spring.
Kim posted an 86 in the first round and a 93 in the second round to card to finish in 24th place with a score of 179, 30 strokes behind the medalist.
Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy) (27th place, 182), Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (32nd place, 186), Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (34th place, 188) and Nicole Fazio (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (38th place, 201) rounded out the Mount's five competitors.
Bethune-Cookman won its own event with a score of 633, 27 strokes ahead of South Carolina State (660) while Florida Atlantic (671), Central Connecticut State (676) and Hampton (677) rounded out the Top-5 teams. The Mount finished seventh after rounds of 361 and 374 for a total of 735.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Monday.
