Men's Golf Plays Final Round Of Fall At Wendy's Kiawah Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Ryan Triller (Street, Md./North Harford) finished 33rd to lead the Mount St. Mary's men's golf team to a 26th-place standing at the Wendy's Kiawah Classic on Tuesday.

Triller posted a 72 in the first round and a 73 in the second round to go into the last day three over before carding an 81 in the final round to finish in 33rd place with a 226, 16 strokes behind the medalist.

Andrew Lawton (Severna Park, Md./Mount St. Joseph) (105th place, 240), Tonny Aizpun (Barcelona, Spain/Lycee Francais De Barcelone) (117th place, 243), Kevin Ellison (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) (130th place, 252) and Eric Flockhart (Mississauga, Ontario/St. Francis Xavier) rounded out the Mount's five competitors. Flockhart posted a 174 in the first two rounds, but did not compete in the final round on Tuesday.

South Carolina won the three-day event with a score of 859, 20 strokes ahead of Winthrop (879) while Jacksonville State (885), College of Charleston (890) and Marquette (896) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the field. The Mountaineers finished 26th in the event after recording a 315, 317 and a 329 in the three rounds for a total of 961.

This event concluded the fall slate for the men's golf team.
