CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Ryan Triller (Street, Md./North Harford) finished 32nd to lead the Mount St. Mary's men's golf team to a 10th-place standing at the Maryland Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
Triller registered rounds of 74, 71 and 73 to finish with a three-round score of 218 and in 32nd place, 12 strokes behind the medalist.
All five of the Mount competitors shot two-over par or better in the final round to notch a program-record round of 289. Tonny Aizpun (Barcelona, Spain/Lycee Francais De Barcelone) shot an even round of 71 while Devin O'Grady (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) finished with a one-over par round of 72 and Triller, Kevin Ellison (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) and Danny Michalek (Mount Airy, Md./Mount St. Joseph) each posted a two-over round of 73.
Triller was the Mount's top finisher while Ellison (40th place, 221), Aizpun (49th place, 222), O'Grady (57th place, 225) and Michalek (58th place, 226) rounded out the Mount's competitors.
Winthrop won the two-day three-round event with a score of 829, 11 strokes ahead of Pennsylvania (840) while Georgetown (844), Old Dominion (850) and Loyola (853) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the field. Mount St. Mary's posted 303, 291 and 289 in the three rounds for a total of 883 in the competition. The three-round total was a program-record score.
The Mount returns to action at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational on Sept 26.
