PHOENIX, Md. – Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) placed 43rd to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a 13th-place standing at the Towson Invitational. The event was the squad's first event of the 2011-12 slate.
Roe posted an 84 in the first round and an 88 in the second round to register a two-round score of 172, 26 strokes behind the medalist
Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (43rd place, 172), Jen Kim (Lansdale, Pa./Methacton) (57th place, 177), Nicole Fazio (Lower Gywnedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (65th place, 183) and Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy) (67th place, 186) rounded out the Mount's five competitors. Kim and Hayward are making their collegiate debut in the event.
Old Dominion won the two-day event with a score of 624, four strokes ahead of William & Mary (628) while St. John's (637), Columbia (640) and Hampton (654) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the field. The Mount posted a 349 in the first round and a 361 in the second round for a total of 710 and a 13th-place standing.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Sept. 24 at the Princeton Invitational.
