NESHANIC STATION, N.J. - Ray Hyre (Bowie, Md./Bowie)
finished tied for second to lead the Mount St. Mary's men's golf
team to a fifth-place finish at the Peacock Invitational on
Tuesday.
The senior posted a 75 to finish in second place and two strokes
behind the medalist.
Sage Smith (Denver, Colo./Brophy) (24th place, 81), Dan Michalek
(Mount Airy, Md./Mount St. Joseph) (32nd place, 83), Jake Wetzel
(Blue Summit, Pa./Waynesboro Area) (32nd place, 83) and Ryan Lee
(Leonia, N.J./Leonia) (49th place, 86) rounded out the
Mount's five competitors.
Devin O'Grady (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) finished 19th
with a score of 80 as an individual and Andrew Lawton (Severna
Park, Md./Mount St. Joseph) (45th place, 85) also competed as an
individual for the Mount.
Lafayette won the one-day one round event with a score of 308,
three strokes ahead of Monmouth (311) while Iona (312), Saint
Peter's (314) and the Mountaineers rounded out the Top-5 teams in
the 10-team field.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the Northeast Conference
Championships starting on Friday.
