Mount Tennis Has Pair of Midweek Matches to Close Out Regular Season

Mount Update: The Mount won both matches this weekend to improve to 7-11 on the season.  Mount St. Mary's earned a 5-2 win at Morgan State on Saturday before posting a 5-2 win over Monmouth at home on Sunday.  Mike Zabetakis won both of his matches at No. 3 singles while Taylor Place was 2-0 at No. 4 singles for the weekend.  The Mount has won three consecutive matches for the first time this season.

Delaware Update:  Delaware is 7-6 on the season after defeating George Mason, 5-2, at home on Sunday.  Courtney Scott plays at No. 1 singles for the Blue Hens and is 15-8 on the year while Troy Beneck is 14-6 while holding the No. 2 spot in the lineup.

The All-Time Series vs. Delaware:  Delaware holds a 7-1 lead in the all-time series with the Mount that began in 1991.  Mount St. Mary's has lost seven in a row to the Blue Hens, including a 7-0 loss in 2009 at home.  Delaware has blanked the Mount in each of the past four meetings.

Loyola Update: Loyola lost to Villanova, 5-2, on Sunday to fall to 10-5 on the season.  Keyan Sanai plays at No. 1 singles and J. Pierce Norton at No. 2 for the Greyhounds.

The All-Time Series vs. Loyola:  The Mount is 6-4 all-time against Loyola since moving to Division I in 1989.  The Mount defeated the Greyhounds, 4-3 on the road last year.  Loyola, however, has won three of the past four matchups in the series.

Up Next:  The Mountaineers close out the 2010-11 season at the Northeast Conference Tournament beginning on Friday, April 15, at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, N.J.
