SAVANNAH, Ga. - Autumn Serruta (Avon, Conn./Avon) sits in 13th
place after the first round to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's
golf team to a sixth-place standing at the Lonnie Barton
Invitational on Monday. The event is the first competition in the
spring season for the Mount.
Serruta posted a 79 in the first round to place 13th, five
strokes behind the current leader.
Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (17th place, 81), Sarah Roe
(Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (29th place, 86), Megan
Corbett (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) (33rd place, 87) and Nicole Fazio
(Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (39th place, 90) round
out the Mount's five competitors in the event.
Towson leads the two-day event with a score of 307, five strokes
ahead of Sacred Heart (312) while Fairlfield (320), Robert Morris
(327) and Long Island (328) round out the Top-5 teams in the nine
team field. The Mountaineers sit in sixth place after shooting 333
in the first round.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Tuesday in the final round
of the Lonnie Barton Invitational.
