Men's Tennis Heads to Bucknell on Tuesday

Mount Update: Mount St. Mary's lost to Sacred Heart, 6-1, at home on Saturday to fall to 4-8 on the season. Freshman Mike Zabetakis won at No. 3 singles to improve to 10-7 on the year.

About the Bison: Bucknell is 6-5 this year after defeating Boston University, 4-3, in their last match. Gregg Cohenca plays at the No. 1 spot in the lineup and has a 10-9 record this season while No. 2 Evan Zimmer is 11-8 in singles play.

The All-Time Series: Bucknell holds a 12-2 lead in the all-time series that dates back to the 1992 season. The Bison earned a 6-1 win over the Mount on March 24 in Emmitsburg, Md, and have won the past 12 matchups between the two schools.

Last Year's Meeting: Bucknell cruised to a 6-1 win at the Mount on March 24 last year. The Mount's Patrick Plastow and Matthew Blake won at No. 1 doubles, but the Bison rebounded to take wins at the other two doubles spots to earn the point. Mike Salomon won 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 over Gregg Cohenca at No. 2 singles to provide the Mount's point.

Career Numbers: Senior Andrew Marinucci has compiled 37 individual doubles wins during his Mount career, moving him into a tie for ninth on the school's all-time list. Marinucci has teamed with fellow senior Patrick Plastow for a 9-7 record this season at No. 3 doubles.

Sophomore Sensations: Sophomores Matthew Blake and Mike Salomon have compiled impressive career numbers at the Mount over their first year and a half. Blake, who is playing at the No. 1 spot in the order, is 26-11 (.703) during his career in singles matches. Salomon, who is playing No. 2 singles, is 27-16 (.628) so far in singles matches at the Mount.
