TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team ranks
17th after the second round of the Seminole Intercollegiate on
Saturday. Tonny Aizpun (Barcelona, Spain/Lycee Francais De
Barcelone) is the squad's top performer through two rounds and sits
in 56th place.
Aizpun, who is competing in his second collegiate event, posted
a 78 in the first round and then posted a two-over second round of
73 to stand in 56th place going into the final, 13 strokes behind
the current leader.
Dan Michalek (Mount Airy, Md./Georgetown Prep) (65th place 151),
Devin O'Grady (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) (88th place, 159),
Ray Hyre (Bowie, Md./Bowie) (92nd place, 163) and Sage Smith
(Denver, Colo./Brophy) (95th place, 170) round out the Mount's five
competitors.
Eighteenth-ranked Arkansas leads the three-day event with a
total of 564, three strokes ahead of Florida State (567) while
Kennesaw State (571), North Texas (572) and Mississippi State (578)
round out the Top-5 teams in the field. The Mount remains in 17th
after carding a 318 and 306 in the first two rounds for a total of
624.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Sunday for the final round
of the Seminole Invitational. The Mount's five competitors will tee
off at 10 a.m. (Smith), 10:09 a.m. (Hyre), 10:18 a.m. (O'Grady),
10:27 a.m. (Michalek) and 10:36 a.m. (Aizpun).
