TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team ranks
17th after the first round of the Seminole Intercollegiate on
Friday. Dan Michalek (Mount Airy, Md./Georgetown Prep) is the
squad's top performer after the first round and sits in 61st
place.
Michalek started on the 10th tee and posted a 41 in the first
nine holes that he completed and then posted an even back nine of
36 to finish with a round of 77 in 61st place.
Tonny Aizpun (Barcelona, Spain/Lycee Francais De Barcelone)
(65th place 78), Devin O'Grady (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township)
(80th place, 80), Sage Smith (Denver, Colo./Brophy) (90th place,
83) and Ray Hyre (Bowie, Md./Bowie) (93rd place, 84) round out the
Mount's five competitors.
Eighteenth-ranked Arkansas leads the three-day event with a
total of 277, 10 strokes ahead of Florida State (287) while
Mississippi State (289), Kennesaw State (290) and North Texas (292)
round out the Top-5 teams in the field. The Mount placed 17th after
the first round with a score of 318.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Saturday for the second
round of the Seminole Invitational. Tee Times start at 7:30
