RADFORD, Va. – The 200-free relay finished second to pace the Mount St. Mary's women's swimming team to a seventh-place standing after six events at the Radford Invitational on Thursday.
Cat Coppler (Enfield, Conn./Enrico Fermi), Mollie Walsh (Havertown, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll), Anne Thelen (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) and Courtney Griffith (Westminster, Md./Westminster) teamed up to place second in the 200-free relay with a time of 1:38.39.
Griffith also won the B Final of the 50 free (24.59) to finish ninth overall while Thelan was eighth in the B Final of the 50 free (25.27) to place 16th overall in the event.
Erin Regan (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) won the B Final of the 500 free (5:12.14) to place ninth overall.
The 400-free relay team of Patricia Yam (Placenta, Calif./Rosary), Thelan, Regan and Walsh concluded the events for the night with an eighth-place standing (4:03.14). The Mountaineers set team records in both relays.
Liberty leads the three-day event with a score of 234, 38 points ahead of Campbell (196) while Georgia Southern (181), North Florida (162), Saint Francis (Pa.) (146), Youngstown State (105), the Mount (74), Radford (57), Millersville (44) and North Carolina A&T (4) round out the 10-team field.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Friday for the second day of the Radford Invitational.
