Roe Finishes 17th At ECAC Championships

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) finished 17th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to an eighth-place standing at the ECAC Championships on Monday.

Roe posted an 82 in the first round and a 79 in the second round to finish the two-round event with a score of 161, 16 strokes behind the medalist. The two round total was the sixth-best mark in program history. It was the second time this season the senior has registered a round under 80.

Jen Kim (Blue Bell, Pa./Methacton ) (26th place, 166), Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy ) (26th place, 166), Nicole Fazio (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (48th place, 176) and Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (55th place, 184) rounded out the Mount's five competitors. Kim shot a career-low round of 80 on Monday.

Dartmouth won the two-day two-round event with a score of 611, nine strokes ahead of Sacred Heart (620) while Hofstra (638), Hartford (648) and Central Connecticut State (657) rounded out the Top-5 teams. Seven Northeast Conference schools participated in the event and the Mount finished fourth among the schools in the circuit.

The Mountaineers posted a 339 in the first round and then a season-low 330 in the second round to card a 669 in the event. The final round score of 330 was the fifth-best single round mark in program history while the score 669 is the fifth-best two-round total in program history.

Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the Holiday Inn Colonial Classic on Monday.
